Before placing a China-made activewear order for the US, ask your customs broker to confirm the classification, origin, applicable entry date and current duty treatment for the actual garments. Start with the actual product
The USITC explains that a product-name search alone does not establish classification: the relevant legal descriptions and notes must also be considered. Use the official HTS search and USITC classification guidance with your broker.
For the review, prepare:

A previous order can be a reference, but ask your broker to check whether the product details or applicable measures have changed.
Make the quotation usable for your team
Keep the product quotation and import review clearly dated. Ask the responsible parties to identify the factory price, freight, insurance where relevant, duties, brokerage, local handling and final delivery costs. Record the named delivery point and any exclusions.
For a repeat program, identify who must approve a revised cost if the specification, transport plan or import treatment changes. This is a suggested purchasing control, not a promise of a fixed duty rate or shipping cost.

Prepare the sourcing brief
For Full Custom Manufacturing, send the product, target market, quantity per color and style, and any existing tech pack or sample. Standard MOQ is 200 pieces per color and style; special materials or construction may require more.
For Ready Styles, request the private Excel catalogue. The minimum is 50 pieces per style, with at least 15 pieces per selected color and size. Availability, permitted branding, price and timing are confirmed in the current quotation.
