If you run an Australian or New Zealand activewear or swimwear label and want a factory-direct manufacturer with low MOQs, recycled fabrics, and proper certifications, Linked Sourcing is the sourcing arm of a 40-year, vertically integrated Chinese factory group. We own six factories (not a trading company), start most styles at 200–300 pcs, run GRS-certified recycled nylon and recycled LYCRA®, and ship FOB, CIF, or DDP to ports across Australia. Your single English-speaking contact, Jerry, is backed by five in-house business teams and replies within one business day.
Why AU/NZ Brands Source Activewear & Swimwear in China
Australia has a strong activewear and swim culture but a thin local manufacturing base for performance knits and four-way-stretch swim fabrics. Most boutique AU labels end up sourcing the technical pieces — bikinis, one-pieces, leggings, sports bras, board shorts — from a specialist factory overseas. China still offers the deepest performance-fabric ecosystem: recycled nylon, recycled LYCRA® spandex, chlorine-resistant swim knits, and seamless yarns are all available on short lead times from domestic mills, which keeps both pricing and timelines competitive at boutique volumes.
The risk for a smaller AU brand is landing with a trading company that adds margin and hides the real factory. We solve that by being factory-direct: we own the cut-and-sew floors, hold the certifications in our own name, and give you one accountable contact instead of a chain of middlemen.
Low MOQ Built for Boutique AU Labels
Our MOQ is low-to-mid by design — typically 200–300 pcs per style — which suits AU labels testing new collections without committing to thousands of units. For new brands we also offer:
- A small-batch pilot run to validate fit and quality before scaling
- Sample-cost deduction against a confirmed bulk order
- Good / Better / Best pricing tiers so you can match fabric and trims to your retail price point
Whether you need recycled-nylon swimwear, buttery four-way-stretch leggings, or a full athleisure capsule, we can run OEM (to your tech pack or approved sample) or ODM (designed from concept using our in-house design team and fabric library). For the difference, see OEM vs ODM activewear.
Recycled Nylon, Recycled LYCRA® & Eco Certifications
Sustainability sells in the AU/NZ market, and unverified “eco” claims are a compliance risk. Our credentials are third-party audited and held in our own name:
| Certification | What it covers |
|---|---|
| GRS (Global Recycled Standard) | Verified recycled content + chain of custody |
| OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 | Tested for harmful substances |
| bluesign® | Responsible chemistry & resource use |
| BSCI / Sedex | Social compliance & ethical labour |
Over 60% of our production uses recycled or eco-certified fabrics. We run recycled nylon and recycled LYCRA® for swim and stretch, apply PFAS-free finishes, and can offer biodegradable nylon, Sorona®, Tencel™, and bamboo viscose where your design calls for it. For a deeper breakdown, read activewear eco-certifications.
Swimwear is a core strength: our gallery includes chlorine-resistant bikinis and one-pieces in 82–86% nylon / 14–18% spandex blends. Browse the swimwear range and the active & yoga range for real style references and fabric compositions.
Sampling Process & Lead Times
The sampling flow is built to keep AU brands moving fast despite the distance:
| Stage | Timeline |
|---|---|
| Sampling (after approved tech pack) | 7–10 working days |
| Bulk production (after confirmation) | 30–45 days |
| 3D virtual sampling & video fittings | Available to cut physical sample rounds |
We use 3D virtual sampling and live video fittings so you can review fit and construction before a physical sample crosses the ocean — valuable when you’re a 14+ hour flight away. Quality is controlled with a 3-stage inspection (IQC / IPQC / FQC) at AQL 2.5, and you’re welcome to appoint a third-party inspector (SGS, BV, or Intertek). Fabrics can be tested to AATCC, ISO, REACH, and your RSL.
Shipping & Trade Terms to Australia
Logistics is where many AU brands get caught out, so we keep it flexible:
- Sea freight to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, or Auckland: typically 14–25 days port-to-port
- Air freight for urgent drops or top-ups: typically 3–7 days
- Trade terms: FOB, CIF, or DDP (we handle duty and door-to-door delivery so the goods arrive landed)
- Payment: T/T, L/C, or open account for established programs
DDP is especially popular with smaller AU labels that don’t want to manage customs brokerage and GST handling themselves — we quote a single landed price to your warehouse.
Proven at Brand Scale
The group has produced for names that AU buyers will recognise — including Alo Yoga, Gymshark, The North Face, Seafolly, and SKIMS — so the same machinery and QC discipline that serves global labels is available to a boutique brand starting at 200 pcs. With around 515,000 pcs/month from owned factories and 30M+ garments a year across the group, capacity grows with you as your label scales.
